2. Is a client application required for automations?

For automations themselves, you usually do not need to install a separate desktop application for the end user. Automations run inside the CODEXIS AI runtime, that is, in an isolated virtual environment where the agent, skills, working directory, and integration tools are all available.

An additional installation on the client side is required only when the solution is meant to include direct synchronization of company folders or a connection to local systems. In that case, a synchronization or integration component is deployed on the designated client or server machine, rather than a standalone application for each individual work laptop.
